Review content:
I took 4 pants to be hemmed and 2 shoes for heels replaced. Dropping them off, the owner was very nice mostly conversing with my husband. The next Saturday when I picked up my pants and shoes he was abrupt. I thought he must be busy. At home, I looked at my shoes. Not impressed (far from the original soles), but functional and unnoticeable without inspection. Overall I was happy. The hems looked fine, but when I tried on the pants 2 of the 4 were still too long. I called the shop and the owner told me to return asap. The woman in the shop re-pinned the pants. While in the changing room, I could hear him be condescending to his other guests. I was a little surprised, but didn't pay too much attention. After bringing the pants to the woman, he confronted me. First asking/yelling, who pinned the pants, I responded, ""You did."" He then tried to tell me that I had him make them longer. For one, I didn't. In fact, on one pair I had him lift the hem higher than he had recommended. And second, if he didn't remember he had pinned them, how did he remember that I asked him to lower them? It was as though he waited for the shop to clear of other customers before he set into me. He said that I approved the length. Why would I pay for hemming only for my pants to still drag? Yes when he pinned them I looked in the mirror, and no they weren't dragging then. I told him that I had trusted his judgment, as he is the professional, but I don't want my pants to drag. Also, I felt bad for the woman; she looked scared and embarrassed, and even apologized for the owner. Also, his prices are not great. At the time I was willing to pay the $60 for the convenience of going to one place for both shoes and pants. FOLLOW-UP: When I returned for my 2 pants (mentioned above). I told him that due to his irate and inexcusable treatment of me last Saturday, I reviewed his business on several websites. He is now threatening legal action against me for said reviews. I will contact the BB Bureau on Mon. Pros: Convenience of shoe repair and alterations in one place Cons: Terrible customer service. Rude. Unwilling to accept responsibility of mistakes.
