Review content:
We are new to the area and signed up for Dental HMO (DHMO), which meant we were limited to Embassy or Castle Dental centers. We selected this office based on positive reviews we had read regarding the staff and dentist Dr Van. Mistake! On a positive note the staff is really nice and accommodating, easy to make appointments, and the hygienist seemed to perform a thorough cleaning. Now the ugly... They recommended both my husband and I to get 2 crowns each. I was skeptical after my husband said he needed 2 as well. We both have good teeth and have never needed anything close to that and it was going to be about $3000 out-of-pocket for us. So we got our X-rays and got a second opinion. The second dentist said that neither my husband nor myself needed anything!!! Not even a filling. He even repeated our X-rays for free because the other office could only give us paper copies from a standard printer. With that said I am well aware of the differences in practice, just trust your instinct and don't hesitate to spend $50 on an exam for a second opinion before spending thousands of dollars.
