HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE...On January 21, 2012 my partner proposed to me. It was the happiest day of my life. She told me that she had brought the ring to Regency Jewelers because of reviews she saw online. This is also where it was sized. Less then a week later a prong broke off. We brought it to Regency to have it fixed, for the repair and to have an appraisal done. Since we had an appraisal with all of the details already the owner (I am assuming) said it would cost only $25. We thought that was fair. He said he would call when it was ready. He then went in the room with the repair man. I could hear them talking about the center stone and how it was enhanced. They continued to talk, although I could not hear anymore of the conversation. The owner walked back out handed me my ring, with an odd look on his face, and said he would call when the appraisal was done (I still have not received a call). We took the ring and headed to the car. When I put the ring back on and looked down at it I almost had a heart attack! The center stone was not at all sparkling like it did when I brought it in! Now I know what the jeweler and owner were talking about. It was cloudy and dull. I was so sick to my stomach, not knowing what to do we went home. We did some research online and then went to two separate jewelers to see what happened and if anything can be done. They advised since the stone was enhanced that when the heat from the repair torch hit the diamond it affected the enhancement of the diamond. The one jeweler actually said, ""no reputable jeweler would let a ring leave their shop like this"". And that since Regency was aware that the diamond was enhanced, that they would be responsible for fixing or replacing the diamond. I made several attempts to get in contact with Regency with no reply back. I am so upset and will be bringing it to a jeweler that I can trust. I CAUTION ANYONE FROM USING THIS JEWELER AVOID THE HEARTACHE AND FIND A JEWELER YOU CAN TRUST, BECAUSE REGENCY IS CERTAINLY NOT IT!
