( Gave a single star only because the system wouldn't let me give anything less.) Faust Body Shop does good work but, ""THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER VERY GOOD BODY SHOPS IN DES MOINES."" I own 5 vehicles and Faust Body Shop has done all my body work for the past 15 years. That being said, something has changed recently at Faust. When I took my vehicle in for an estimate earlier this week after an altercation with a deer, I sensed that Faust wasn't really interested in taking on this job. It wasn't a concern of payment. I am very well insured. All but a $100.00 deductable is fully covered by Nationwide Insurance. The insurance company had actually sent all my information including proof of coverage to Faust prior to my arrival. I own a small farm south of DSM. The vehicle is an 1998 Chevy 3/4 ton, HD, 4X4, extended cab, long bed pickup truck that is actually used for what is designed for. The truck isn't pristine but it isn't a wreck either. The truck is mechanically sound and does the job I need it to do. I plan to keep it for several years to come. The Shop Manager (Owner?) who did the estimate actually suggested I not repair it at all even though the headlamp, turn signal and driver's door no longer function properly. When I left, I was told they would call me with the estimate total later that day. After hearing nothing for three days I stopped back in to check on the status of the estimate and repair schedule. I was told then the estimate had been sent out in the mail..? As I had 15 year relationship with Faust, I mentioned that, based upon my experience when I brought my vehicle in for the estimate, I was concerned that they may not really want the job. Pam, the Office Manager, was very apologetic and assured me that was not the case. With my initial concerns allayed, I then inquired about the cost of having some additional work done while my vehicle was in the shop and Pam went out to the shop to get the Shop Manager. Pam apparently shared my initial concern with the Shop Manager before they came back up front to the office lobby. Upon entering the office lobby, the Shop Manager was immediately belligerent and rude. I was utterly shocked by his attitude and demeanor. Before I ever got a chance to explain or discuss the additional work I was interested in paying for, The Shop Manager essentially refused the entire job and told me I could go elsewhere. I think Pam was as shocked and surprised as I was as she was standing behind him with a puzzled look of concern on her face and shrugged her shoulders in despair when she and I made eye contact. As I said before, Faust Body Shop does do good work but, "" THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER VERY GOOD BODY SHOPS IN DES MOINES."" The Office Manager, Pam, is golden and probably the greatest asset the business has. In retrospect, Pam may well be the only reason Faust remains in business. I have referred many customers to Faust in the past bu
