Review content:
Keystone is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. BEWARE! My husband and I looked at many builders and have previous home building experience. We thought we made the right choice. Keystone was great until after our settlement on the land. After they got our money everything went down hill -unbelieveably bad customer service and almost no supervision of sub contractors. Horrible corners were cut. We had six inches of water in our basement for 5 weeks. We finally had to threaten a law suit to get it cleaned up. The home was behind schedule until the very end and in order to keep the move in date they hurried drastically at the end and did a horrible cut rate job. They had 4 houses in my block alone that were finished a week apart. They simply have too many houses being built at one time to make sure their subs are doing a good job. Our home was even vandalized because materials weren't stored inside and doors weren't locked. Our neighbors say it was a sub-contractor who was disgruntled who did the vandalism. Then Keystone used the vandalized (blue spray painted) materials to finish our wood work and refused to replace it!!! Besides the negetive construction they force you into using their lender by offering a large ""incentive"" which is basically just a penalty for using any other lender. EVERYTHING is an option, including window screens! And every option is at a hugely inflated in price ($95 for a towelrack). Until you are done adding basic things to your house you have added 60,000 to the price of your home. Then they take off the magical incentive and use the lower amount for the actual sales price. This leaves you with little or no equity depending on your down money. The price they say the house is worth with all the options is not even close to what they give as the final estimate. I would not recommend Keystone to my worst enemy and American Home Bank is even worse. I have yet to hear one person who was happy who had Keystone.
Pros: lots of options
Cons: everything else
