Review content:
Forget the food at this Altoona institution. Go for the fun of seeing some of Altoona's finest characters! (In reality, the food's not bad.) Breakfasts are best with hand carved ham & eggs at a fair price. The coffee, however, is horrid! Still, Tom and Joe's has probably been the site of more ""wheeling and dealing"" by Altoona's finest businessmen, lawyers and politicians. It's also home for restless, late-nighters who sit for hours at the counter or lounge in booths with real 50's era ""satellite"" jukebox's (still a quarter a play!). The decor isn't ""retro""...it's original...complete with real pine walls and vinyl seating...and a sign that says ""Our Office Manager is Helen Waite. If you want credit....go to Helen Waite!:)"" Fair food (and lots of it) with regular specials of local ""stick to the ribs"" favorites. If you leave here hungry, it's your own fault. Most likely, you'll leave smiling!
Pros: inexpensive, good parking, interesting place
Cons: , average food, strange hours
