BEWARE... be sure you know how much they will charge you before you agree to anything. I had an appointment Friday evening for makeup application and a style. I told the person who scheduled the appointment that I would be in town for an event and needed some help with my hair as it would be difficult to curl my hair in my hotel room. I told her I would wash and blow dry my hair before my appointment and I simply needed some help with a curling iron to add curls... nothing complicated. Medina was who I scheduled my makeup application with. The first thing she said to me was that she ""didn't bring her kit as no one told her about my appointment."" I told her I had scheduled it days prior and she should have been told. She said they told her she had one tomorrow, but not today. The application of the makeup took about 15 - 20 minutes. Then I moved to another chair where Gina spent about 15 minutes with a curling iron putting curls in my hair. When I went to leave I had to wait at least 5 minutes for a young girl to come to the desk. She informed me the total for my visit was $104. I was SHOCKED. I asked her if she was sure and she said, yes. I asked for a breakdown of the charges and she said $50 for the ""up-do"". I told her I did not have an ""up-do"" and know that that service is much more complicated than simply using a curling iron for 15 minutes and that I was sure she was mistaken. She said ""no I do the computer here and I am sure that curls are the same as the charge for an up-do""... I then asked her if she could check with someone else to be sure as I did not expect to pay this much for a 15 minute visit that did not include an ""up-do"". She said there was no one to ask, that she was sure and it was $104 today. I gave her my American Express card which was the only credit card I had with me. She said ""we don?t' take this card, do you have another?"" I said no that I didn't and I didn't have a check either. I had $84 in cash and the one AmEx credit card. The receptionist was so rude and at this time she grabbed her purse, walked out from behind the desk and said ""I'll be back in a minute"" I don't know where she went, but I assume it was the bathroom that couldn?t' wait until she was done talking to me. I called my husband who was at the hotel and since I had the rental car with me, had no way to bring me any money or method of payment. He gave me his Mastercard # on the phone and I gave it to the receptionist (who had returned from her bathroom break) for the total charge $104. Unfortunately neither of the girls who spent time with me was given a tip as the inflated price charged by the salon should have been sufficient to cover a nice tip for both. I was treated disrespectfully by the receptionist and no one in the Salon (I was the only customer there at the time and there were at least 6 employees in the salon) did anything to help or offer assistance. Horrible customer service? Inflated prices !
