Review content:
I've been looking for a decent bakery since moving here & found Jean Jacques is supremely overrated. I visited this store after the review in the Times Dispatch and was not disappointed. Their desserts are amazing! The cheesecake is authentic New York, nice and dense like it should be. The bourbon chocolate chip pecan tart is to die for. In fact, everything I ordered looked and tasted great. Even my very sophisticated 10 year old son loved his desserts and when I packed him a cookie iin his lunch, he could have sold it for $20 to a classmate. One drawback though is that since there is only one baker, a croquembouche is impossible to get for Christmas.
Pros: Looks great, taste even better
Cons: One baker so highly involved confections can't be done during holiday seasons
