Review content:
I have visited just about all of the Native American galleries in New England and have found and if you want an experience that rivals the shops and galleries in the Southwest, this is the only place to go. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the work that they sell. They travel out west to hand pick/purchase the jewelry they carry and can provide great stories and insight into the pieces as they have developed friendships with the artists over the years.
The Silver Buffalo also hosts the artists for shows throughout the year and this is a very rare chance to get to meet the artists and learn about their crafts and cultures. This is a wonderful place to visit and don't be suprised if your visit turns into and afternoon of learning and meeting new friends.
I closing, I would like to address the 2 negative reviews on this site. I find it very odd that they were posted on the same day and what is stated is counter to everything that I know and have experienced at the SB.
One person is asking for credit a full year after the purchase, claiming the turquoise to be fake. The Silver Buffalo carries award winning artists and does not tolerate or market fake turquoise. In fact the SB actually assesses jewelry for people as they are experts in this area. This individual should look for another appraiser and the fact that the SB even offered store credit after 1 year simply shows how far the SB will go to satisfy their coustomers.
The second complaint is that an individual ""put up with young sales associates that were more interested in their cell phones than in my business"" and that they did not know how to work a cash register. I am a long time coustomer. They have never had multiple ""young"" people working there. The young lady that does work there is a consumate professional and the sales transactions are written up by hand, not by cash register.
