My name is Karen Becker and I'm co-owner of Alterations by Karen & Becky. My partner owned And Sew On until 3 years ago when she sold it. I was her right hand man for 10 years. After selling her shop we opened Alterations by Karen & Becky is Wyoming MI. 2 1/2 years ago, and doing wonderful. Since opening the shop we have some of the best customers we could ever ask for.
Own policy is to give you the best quality service in the Grand Rapids area. We guarantee our work, We will always have a smile that is real, and we will take the time to make sure we give you exactly was you want. We will be painfully honest when it comes to the job being worth the money. We will not be one of those shops who will do something even if it didn't need anything done, just to get your money.
We do everything we can to make you look good. What ever, good or bad reflects back on us. We have pride in our work.
We do everything from Wedding gowns to mending holes in jeans. We fix and replace zippers in pants, skirts, and coats. We do not work on leather or upholstery, We only work on clothes.
Becky has specialized in Wedding gowns for over 35 years. and has worked in some of the top bridal shops in the area.
Karen has specialized in Military and Law Enforcement over 15 years.
We have contracts with JROTC, Life EMS, ADT, Intigrary Business Solutions, Grand Rapids Police and the Michigan State Police.

UPDATE.....Due to the quality of our work, we have been honored by the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum to reproduce a dress that Betty Ford wore after their wedding for travel. The original dress has not fared well in the 80 yrs since the wedding. The duplicate I made will be on display Oct. 25 at a new exhibit honoring Betty Ford. Please go and check out the exhibit. There will be dozens of dresses wore by Betty at different events over the years.
