When I purchased my home the hardwood floors were already damaged from the previous owner's potted plants. At the time I could not afford to have them refinished. Needless to say, 13 years later the floors under the windows in the dining room had absolutely no varnish left from the previous water damage and 13 years of sun had worn the varnish down to bare wood. The rest of the floors just looked dull.
Recently, when I was about to have new living room furniture delivered and realized I would have to mostly empty the room, I thought it might be time to look into having the floors refinished. I had previously heard about NHance Wood Renewal and decided to give them a try. I did not want to have my entire home out of commission for the week or more a full sanding/refinishing job would take so this seemed like a reasonable option.
After contacting NHance by email, Marcia was at my home within 2 days to do the initial estimate. There was no pressure to commit to having the job done, and she was very upfront about what to expect with the results and the limitations of the NHance process.
I decided to have NHance do the job and Dave came out to do my pre-service inspection. The entire NHance team was very accommodating in scheduling my service in the window between having the old furniture hauled away and the new furniture delivered.
Come job day there was a delay when the schedule technician was sick but NHance was very quick to schedule service for the next day, which happened to be a Saturday, to make sure that my floors would be ready for the furniture delivery the following week.
Josh arrived promptly on Saturday morning and was able to mostly complete the job in one day although the amount of filler required on my poor tired floors was more than originally estimated so he had to schedule to return to finish the job on the following Monday.
After the initial day the floors looked wonderful except for a couple of streaked areas. Josh also fixed those up quickly on his return trip.
The results exceeded my expectations. The area under the dining room window which had serious water damage and completely missing varnish now looks so much better and the rest of the floors are equally nice.
I know that the results would have been even more spectacular with a full sanding and refinishing, but the significantly shorter time I was out of the front of my home and reduced cost was a total win for me.
The final touch was when we dropped a table moving the furniture back into the rooms and scratched the new finish. NHance offered to come back and repair the scratch without charge.
