Review content:
I have very much enjoyed receiving care from Dr. Yost. When I went to him, I was dealing with a severe case of eczema, and what I wanted more than anything was a doctor who would really take the time to "investigate" why - not just prescribe creams and steroids, which is what a typical doctor would do. Functional Medicine was recommended to me, so I went to Dr. Yost!
From our very first appointment, Dr. Yost was patient, thoughtful, and thorough. He made every effort to learn about my health history, reading the documents I provided (a packet of info detailing my life-long struggles with eczema), and asking lots of questions - which I so appreciated because it meant he really wanted to know as much as he could!
I rarely ever go to medical doctors, and I've heard "horror stories" about long waits and inconsiderate physicians. Hence why I'm amazed that I've never had trouble scheduling an appointment with Dr. Yost, he always invites me into his office with just minutes of my arrival, and I've never felt rushed. Every question I've asked has been answered patiently, and I've been impressed with how much he knew about the roots of my condition just off the top of his head.
Everything he prescribed was totally consistent with what I'd read (and I've read up on it a lot!), plus he made additional recommendations that were very helpful. For example, he called me one day out of the blue to recommend a new zinc-based cream he'd been reading about and thought might help me. He didn't have to, and he wasn't being paid to provide me with this info, which is why I found it especially refreshing that he did so.
On a similar note, he isn't one of these doctors who schedules frequent appointments to keep you (and the money) coming in. He'd prescribe a regimen for me and then say, "OK, let's give your body a month on this and see how it goes...", and our next appointment would be one month later. My most recent appointment was 3 months after the one before!
