Review content:
My cat was sick for 3 weeks and misdiagnosed on both of her visits due to the lack of basic lab test. Cat was dry heaving and not eating/drinking. Dr only gave her a shot along with drops to be given at home because she was running a fever. Did not test for what was giving her a fever and showed no concern that she was becoming malnourished and dehydrated. She started to feel a little better then her health went downhill again along with still very, very little eating or drinking. On her second visit he felt her neck and now diagnosed what he said was most likely a throat tumor. Again she was given a shot ( antibiotic )and given drops to give her at home. He said if the antibiotic did not make the throat lump go down then he held out no hope for her. Throat tumor would have been inoperable. I stressed she was not eating/drinking and he still showed no concern that she had now become SEVERELY dehydrated and malnourished! The next day, after this visit, I found out that a Vet. CANNOT diagnose a tumor just by feel. It can ONLY be diagnosed with a fine needle aspire and a simple lab test. He did not do this or ""force feed"" my cat as he should have done. I immediately called the Animal Hospital Of Logansport. They realized immediately that she was severely dehydrated and malnourished and hospitalized her. Unfortunately she was so dehydrated that her immune system was now almost nonexistent. No amount of medicine could now help her due to her low immune system. Her lab test showed that she had now developed FIP and showed there was NO tumor. She had to be put to sleep the next day on Feb. 23,2008 11:45AM. Not being a Vet I relied on how the Shell Clinic was treating her. I've never heard of ""force feeding"" and since they showed no concern I assumed it was ok and she would start eating when the shot and drops made her feel better. Treated properly she would have been force fed & given basic lab work. Little did I know that I was allowing them to starve my cat to death!
Cons: Very poor service
