Review content:
My family and I stayed at the North campground at Lake Wenatchee State Park. We stayed in spot #175 and loved it. There were only three of us and our dog which was perfect for the smaller sized spot. Privacy is a bit of an issue with most of the sites in the campground, but our site had two large trees (worked well to hold a tarp for when the rain came), several bushes and trees near the tent pad. The downside was the site was right next to the pathway to the restroom. Sometimes that was a good thing and other times it was a bit distracting. We were so surprised that the campground had plug ins in the bathroom!! This is only my third time camping and I have never been to a state park. I was a bit bummed that so many people had RV?s and fancy campers because I had this vision of tent campers all around me, yet, if I had looked at the map, I would have known in advance about the spacious areas for campers and RV?s. The weather was amazing for most of our stay. We arrived on June 19, 2012 and left on Sunday, June 24, 2012. The camp hosts are wonderful. Not sure how much longer they will be there because they rotate. If Bill and Judy are your hosts, you are in for a treat! The best part of all is the closeness of the lake and river. The beauty is undeniable! Several of the days brought fierce winds and on other days we enjoyed the crystal clear water at a standstill! I would say this is a great campground if you have younger children. Our daughter is a teenager and there were NO other teenagers there. We would definitely go back. If you have time, take the back roads to Leavenworth for the day. Such a beautiful drive. Taking highway 2 is beautiful too, just different. Bring your camera because there is an overabundance of natural beauty waiting to be soaked in!
