Review content:
Figs is my go-to restaurant when I want to impress out of towners, esp from NYC! Although I've sampled quite a bit from their dinner and appetizer menu, I have to say that I always return to the grilled shrimp. If you request it, you can also get it with their famous vanilla infused rice. It's not ordnarily paired together on the menu, but they take special requests with no problem! Accompanying vegetables are always perfectly prepared and I would also recommend the vegetarian platter. I cannot rave enough about the mouth watering food that they serve here and all for such reasonable prices! You cannot beat the consistency at Figs. If you don't like crowds, and they can get noisy b/c it's a real neighborhood-y and friendly place, I would recommend going during the week. The crowds are much lighter and you can get a chance to speak with the chef/owner, who really seems to care about your meal. We just ate Mother's Day brunch at Figs and my made-to-order egg white omelet was cooked perfectly: filled with fresh spinach, goat cheese and fresh tomatos. The coffee is superb. Fresh squeezed OJ -- I can't rave enough. I have ONLY gotten unobtrusive, friendly but diligent service at Figs. I cannot imagine some of the other descriptions I've read of bad service. I was forwarding this link to a friend who wants to eat somewhere close after the Art Museum, and saw some bad reviews. I was shocked as I have never ever seen anything like this. This is Morroccan food at its finest!
Pros: incredibly fresh and reasonably priced food
Cons: can get a bit noisy
