Review content:
This is a small shop in the Chestnut Hill community center owned and managed by an elderly couple who are more than happy to help you. They specialize in clothes and gifts that are hand-made by local artisans, many of them elderly. Their things tend to be traditional rather than artsy, but they are generally beautifully made and reasonably priced. The three things that you can always find here: (1) lovely hand-made dresses for little girls, mostly hand-smocked or similar styles, (2) hand-made clothes for American Girl Dolls in a variety of styles, and (3) a good selection of baby gifts including embroidered baby tee shirts, onesies, and receiving blankets, hand made bibs, and a limited selection of hand-knit sweaters and seasonal baby clothes. They also have a small selection of other gifts such as toys for children, hand-made placemats and more. Gift wrapping is free and nicely done, but slow. This is a great alternative to department store shopping. I like buying directly from store owners who are intimately familiar with every item in their store.
