Review content:
I went to Performance in the Trader Joe's parking lot in Chapel Hill with my girlfriend to help her pick out a bike on a budget from their end of the year sales. As soon as we explained that we were looking for a road bike for a beginner for under 500 dollars they first showed us one for 1200 dollars and then quickly lost interest in helping us altogether. When I used their very easy to navigate website (that also has some amazing deals on it currently) to find three choices they had me wait for no less than 25 minutes while they helped other customers and eventually took the 12 seconds it would have taken initially to check and tell me they were out of stock, but they could check the other stores in the area and see if they had anything we wanted. Another 25 minutes go by-3 of which were spent looking for the bike and the other 22 were spent avoiding eye contact and checking out other customers that didn't need help with their purchases... So what could have been a half hour trip to the store turned into a nearly 2 hour ordeal for nothing. The moral of the story is that if you know exactly what you want, and can find it yourself then this is a great place. If you need someone to help you spend the 500 or so dollars you had planned on giving them then go somewhere else with better customer support. Pros: Excellent end of year sales if you can fit the bikes. Cons: Staff is made up of lousy communicators/ arrogant
