Okay... I'm a current tenant of a downtown Genesis property. I can tell you up front that for as long as I stay in Richmond I will never lease from Genesis again. The apartment is amazing- love my place- But management is just a joke. They aren't very transparent in their business and they do not give out much information on how to contact them if you want to go straight to a property manager instead of dealing with a secretary first. The only good part about the management is the building maintenance man who is and absolute sweetheart. Also- they like to feed you a bunch of junk when you're looking to lease an apartment. I live across the street from my best friend who is leasing from Main Street Realty and she not only got a free television and iPod dock that surround sounds her apartment, but every single one of her utilities is included in her rent, even her parking. If you're looking for a place downtown, go to cold storage. I kind of regret that I didn't. Steer clear of these guys.
