Review content:
We passed up two local Chinese restaurants to order take out from Magic Wok, which used to be a cut above. This was the FIRST TIME I have ever thrown Chinese food away. My husband picked up the order, which was for Wonton Soup, eggrolls, Teriyaki Chicken and Shrimp with Black Bean Sauce. When he arrived, there were spring rolls in the box instead of the eggrolls. He told the woman who gave him his order (owner?) that it was wrong. She told him that the eggrolls are frozen and that they just fry them up, but the spring rolls are made fresh. The spring rolls were mediocre at best. They were over peppered, and appeared to be just cabbage inside, although she said there would be meat as well. The wonton soup was also mediocre...broth, wontons, and strips of something that looked like noodles, but may have been some kind of root vegetable or jicama...who knows? The best part was when my daughter opened her Teriyaki Chicken, and it appeared to be Chicken with Broccoli. Not sure what it was, but it was mushy and tasteless. It went right in the trash. The Shrimp with black bean sauce was a little better, but still mushy...both the shrimp and vegetables. This was one of the most disappointing $30 meals we have ever had!
