This business is god awful. They were referred to me through Service Magic, who since I have complained; they have subsequently cancelled KC Pro Clean's contract since my complaint. I scheduled to have our deck powerwashed, sanded, and stained/resealed for a quote of $950 with no expiration date back in April of this year. I first scheduled for the first week of June, but unfortunately had to cancel and reschedule due to the major hail storm we had this year; I didn't want the roofers ruining the new deck, so I pushed back the work for a week after they were supposed to complete the project and gave KC Pro Clean at least two weeks notice. Unfortunately, due to roofing materials not showing up on time, I had to cancel the project again; also this time also giving the owner about two weeks notice, and I apologized for the problem. I scheduled the project to be completed on June 30th this time, in order to make sure everything on the property was complete because of the storm. Two days before they were to show up to complete the work, I called and e-mailed the owner to confirm the appointment. No one called me back or e-mailed me, so I believed they would show up on the 30th. No one came as promised or called. I called the owner, Harley Cummins, at about 9 am in the morning to find out where they were at; he informed me that they weren't coming and when I asked him if they were even going to call to let me know he stated he was""just going to e-mail me"". Not professional to say the least. He stated he couldn't get me in for another two weeks and he also wasn't going to hold to the $950 price since it was quoted in April. I told him how unprofessional this was, including not showing up and attempting to raise the price of the bid when there was no expiration date (which is not legal), and his excuse was that I had cancelled on him twice; he didn't even take into account the extenuating circumstance surrounding my cancellations or the fact that I always gave them at least two weeks notice in comparison to his not showing up and not calling. I called Service Magic to inform them of the situation and they removed KC Pro Clean from their system, specifically because of the pricing issue, which placed them in a legal pickle considering they back jobs up to $1000; I also advised them I was going to be reporting this business to the Attorney General and BBB's office. I then called Harley back. When I told him I had called Service Magic and that I was going to be reporting him to the AG's office and the BBBhe said ""it will just be a waste of your time""; he then fabricated that they don't even do deck cleanings and stainings anymore this time around, despite during the last conversation stating the price would be raised and they couldn't get me in for two weeks. Then he had the nerve to say the conversation was ""childish"" was of my statement that I was going to be reporting them and that Service Magic reserved the right to cancel their contract. Unbelievable. I guess I should be grateful this company actually didn't show up to complete the project, because I can only imagine how it would have turned out if the owner likes to run his business like this. Since then I've found another company to complete the project that actually is rated with the BBB. Be very weary of this business.
