We had reservations at Roy's but chose to stay at Merriman's after being invited to a wine tasting party. The general manager introduced us to some Spanish wines we had never heard of before, but they were terrific. Food and service after the wine tasting was a cut above the average resort fare-rack of lamb and filet mignon-our best meal on the vacation. We came back for lunch and had fresh hummus and mushroom pizza-yummy! Nice casual atmosphere, really friendly people, outdoor seating. We tried the Merriman's in Waimea and it was good too, but Merriman's Market Cafe made us want to return next year.
