... well, let's not get into how much I overate!!! All you need to know is that the food at this restaurant was some of the best I have ever been served! My boyfriend is Portugeuse and has been to several churrascurias so I thought it would be fitting to get reservations for us to have dinner at Fogo on Opening Night. Before we were even in our seats (literally!), one of the servers had taken our drink orders - 2 caipiroskas (caipirhnas with vodka instead of cachaca) and the drinks were on our table before we got back from our first round at the salad bar. From the minute we turned our disc to green (which means, keep the meat coming!), there was a parade (not literally but almost) of gauchos at our table serving us filet (my boyfriend said the best filet he had was that night) and other cuts of meat. What was so impressive to me was that this was the first churrascuria that offered different meat temperatures (rare, medium, well done) all one skewer. No waiting for the guy with the rare cuts to come by at this restaurant for you rare lovers. Make sure to ask for the black beans, rice, and yucca powder (meat can be dipped in this for more flavor) as side dishes. They weren't offered to us at first but one of the extremely attentive servers offered the dishes to us throughout our meal. All in all, I ate entirely too much for me to even breathe comfortably, which says alot about this place. Come with an appetite for food and tasty drinks. Also, comparing this place to others like it that I have been to, the price is just right for what you get. Other churrascurias charge close to $30 but the ~$45 you pay here means brings better quality food and service. Both me and my boyfriend can't wait to go back! I will just make a mental note not to eat the entire day before going the next time around!
Pros: extremely attentive service; tender, quality cuts of meat; extensive wine list; tasty drinks
Cons: liken it to Thanksgiving dinner - you will eat so much that you will want to take a nap after dining here
