Review content:
My 26 year old healthy boyfriend went to the emergency room at East Jefferson with chest pain and shortness of breath. He had fallen down and his arms and legs hurt. They told him he was having a panic attack and let him go. He didn;t have health insurance so they didn't run tests on him. Not even three hours later, he was going to Winn Dixie to get some medicine because his arm was hurting really bad. He collapsed, was taken back to East Jefferson and died. The autoposy report said he had three massive heart attacks that day. He was 26 years old. If the hospital staff and the hospital would have given him the same treatment they would have given to someone with health insurance, he would have lived to pay the bill. In the ER, signs are posted saying that they provide the same health care to everyone, but this is not true. He had the common signs of a heart attack- chest pain, anxiety, his arm was hurting, but they didn;t bother to run test. It makes me angry to think that the second and third heart attack could have been prevented with medicine, but because of an uncaring and imcompetent medical staff I will never see the love of my life again.
