1. They are not very discreet in how they watch you like a hawk--making you feel like a criminal right off the bat. 2. I brought three tween girls here to pick out some beads for some projects. Each girl had their own money and I was trying to help them with their math when it came time to pay. One girl came up a little short, so I thought I'd help her out by putting her order, along with my daughter's order, on my Visa debit card. It's also important to mention that my baby, who I was wearing in a baby carrier on my back, started to fuss and cry--getting louder and louder. The guy who is always there (owner?) said that because the order was under $5 I could not use my Visa debit card. I know many small businesses try to pull this, but it is against Visa's rules. If businesses are going to accept credit and debit cards at all, then they cannot legally set a minimum purchase rule. I can however sympathize with the small business owner, but what I cannot accept is that this man was not willing to bend HIS rules to help a frazzled mama out. If the guy would have just used a little common sense and said, 'OK well, we have this rule, but I see that you're just trying to help these girls out and you have a fussy baby there, so I want to help you rap this up quickly so that you can take care of your baby', then he would have had some life long customers. 3. I did return to this bead store just recently (after about a year--and swearing I would never go back) because I was desperate for some decent sterling earring wires and didn't have time to travel north into Portland. I asked the lady behind the counter if they were surgical steel because they didn't quite look right for being sterling. She said, 'no, these are ALL sterling in here', so I bought them, and then later realized that they do not have the sterling stamp like every other pair of sterling earring wires that I have since inspected. So, I cannot recommend this place, but I gave them 1 star because City Search requires you to give something. I really hate bad customer service though!
