MY AUNT WAS BROUGHT INTO LNRM JANUARY 6 WITH A BLOOD SUGAR LEVER OF 41. SHE WAS THEN ADMITTED TO THE HOSPITAL. HAD FAMILY MEMBERS NOT BEEN WITH HER SHE COULD HAVE DIED 4 DIFFERENT TIMES BECAUSE SHE KEPT GOING INTO DIABETIC SHOCK. THE FLOOR (2ND NEW WING) WAS UNDERSTAFFED AND THE STAFFING NEVER GOT ANY BETTER. THE NURSES WERE GOOD BUT THE HOSPITAL HAS A STAFFING PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD BY THEIR CEO THAT THE NATIONAL GRID IS 1 NURSE TO EVERY 6 ROOMS. THAT MIGHT BE OK IF YOU DO NO HAVE ANYONE THAT IS REALLY SICK, THAT PARTICULAR DAY 2 OTHER PEOPLE WERE BROUGHT TO THAT FLOOR THAT WAS VERY SICK AND NEEDED AS MUCH CARE AS MY AUNT. SHE LEFT THE HOSPITL ON THE 11TH. THEN ON JANUARY 27TH SHE HAD TO RETURN TO THE HOSPITAL AFTER HAVING A STROKE. SHE WENT INTO THE ER ARRIVING AT 6:45 BUT WAS NEVER TAKED TO A ROOM UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 9:45 AT WHICH TIME WE LEARNED THAT HER CLOTHS HAD BEEN ""LOST"". TO DATE THEY HAVE NOT BEEN FOUND. SHE WAS TAKEN TO 2ND FLOOR OLD WING AND HAD GREAT NURSES. BUT THERE AGAIN THEY ARE TOTALLY OVERWORKED. ON SATURDAY SHE WAS DISCHARGED AT 3:00PM. NUCARE WAS SUPPOSE TO PICK HER UP AT 5:00 TO TAKE HER BACK TO THE NURSING HOME. THEY ARRIVED AT 9:30PM SAYING THAT THEY HAD HAD AN EMERGENCY. I AM NOT SURE WHAT EMERGENCY COULD HAVE LASTED 41/2 HOURS. BECAUSE SHE WAS SUPPOSE TO ARRIVE AT THE NUSING FACILITY AT 5:00PM SHE WAS NOT FED ANYTHING AT LNRM UNTIL I STARTED CALLING TO SEE WHY SHE HAD NOT ARRIVED AT THE NURSING HOME. IN TALKING WITH THE HOPITAL CONCERNING THE LAG OF TIME IN PICKING HER UP THEY DID NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY. IT WAS ALL NUCARE'S FAULT BUT MY RESPONSE IS IF YOU CONTRACT SOMEONE TO DO A SERVICE FOR YOU YOU SHOULD AT LEAST FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS THAT IT TOOK 41/2 HOURS TO PICK UP A LADY THAT COULD NOT SEE, PARALYZED ON HER RIGHT SIDE AND VERY WEAK. SOMEONE HAD NO CONSIDERATION. I WAS TOLD BY THE HOSPITAL THAT NUCARE TRANSPORATION ONLY HAD ONE TRUCK RUNNING ON THE WEEKEND. ARE THERE NOT ANY OTHER SERVICES THAT HELPS PEOPLE TO BE TRANSPORTED? I AM VERY CONCERNED WITH THE STAFFING PROBLEMS THEY SEEM TO HAVE. THEY HAVE GREAT NURSES BUT OVERWORKED NURSES AND THAT IS A SITUATION THAT IS NOT GOOD WHEN YOU HAVE SICK PEOPLE.
