I'm sorry to read about other people's bad experiences at AOC. While I'm sure all they've reported has happened (c'mon... it's a trendy LA restaurant so it shouldn't be surprising)... I've been there twice and have had a great experience each time. The service has always been friendly and efficient. I enjoy the ""small plates"" experience at this and other restaurants, but I have to say I've had better than AOC. It's delicious and definitely worth a try, but I think it's a little too pricey for what you get. They could up the portions just a tad. However, definitely try the cheese list... very tasty and your server should be able to recommend a good wine to go along with what you're eating.
Pros: Large selection, great cheese menu, wonderful wine selection
Cons: Although it's ""small plates"", portions could be a little bigger
