Review content:
This complex is 2 years old. For the first year we LOVED the place. We still do inside our apartment. Everything is nice and new, but some things are very obvious how quick they threw up these apartments. We are in one of the first buildings to open and I think we were the first to move into our building. They have patched the parking lot a few times even though it looked completely and entirely un-needed. Then they decided to redo the whole entire complex parking lot - its nice they are proactive but wasteful.
Pros. Good maintenance, Quick to deal with issues, New appliances, Police officer specific parking one at the front by office another near our apartment (2 cops live here yay), beautiful interiors and exteriors, playground, picnic areas, dog park.
Now that we have been here awhile we've noticed changes that really aren't fantastic and make me angry because with out those changes are the reason we picked this place. The biggest one is the fact that our rent has been raised almost (shy of 6$) 100$ since our last renewal. That is huge. I also HATE that they added pet rent since they don't add rental charges for more people living in the apartment (at one point at least 5 or 6 people lived above us). I think of it like charging for a baby.
Cons. Change the office people regularly, pet rent added on top of the deposits, free fitness center is now charged, tiny tiny pool for such a large complex, never enough parking in our whole area, don't try and sleep in during the week with grounds people here regularly making noise next to your window, the trash dumpsters are usually full, graffiti now and again, have heard of several car break ins in the past but much less now (this you could attribute to the cops but one has lived here since it opened and at that time we had another that lived here too)
Across the street at Brookwood Apartments it is in no way safe, so if choosing between the two pick this one. If choosing between Summit Pointe and somewhere with safe neighborhoods next to it - choose elsewhere.
Lots of bugs get into our home but the office is always helpful and quick in sending someone to spray the place for us.
