Review content:
I had never tried yoga before. I was a little intimidated, because I am overweight. I love going to Balanced Body. The studio is beautiful with great teachers. The beginning class is slower and highly focused on learning how to do the poses right, why that way is right, and centering oneself. It doesn't matter what level of fitness you at at. Stiff and out of shape? Kat has a modification of every pose for you. Flexible, strong, with great stamina, she has a modification for you too. Overweight, pregnant, old injuries, it doesn't matter. All the teachers at BBY will help you find the place you personally need to practice and improve. The atmosphere is very supportive and calm. There is never any judgment or competition. Friday gentle classes are not only gentle, but fun and informative about the traditions of yoga. Kat and all the other teachers place a big emphasis on doing what you feel is right, what your body is telling you is right. This not only helps prevent injury, it creates a place where anyone, no matter what level, can learn and enjoy yoga.
Pros: knowlegable understanding instructors, great supportive atmosphere, practice for all levels of experience
Cons: it is in cedar park, which is pretty far north for me
