Review content:
I went to Cindy this last weekend for my first time to get a wash, cut and process for the $75 first time coupon. I just moved to the area and normally go to high end salons like MichaelJohn in London, but was looking for something a little more affordable this time round. Reading the reviews Studio 291 looked like a quality but affordable salon. I had an excellent visit! I arrived about 20 minutes early for my appointment but was immediately ushered back for a wash. Mary washed my hair and had a little trouble getting the temperature right, but did a good job. Then I came out front and Cindy and I talked a little about what I wanted done and what look I was going for. The cut she did was fantastic, and the color was very good. But Cindy noticed I didn't think it was great so she took me back, washed my hair and started all over. (Make sure Mary washes your hair, Cindy is great for color but not so great at a wash - my shirt was drenched by the end) I was impressed that she would take the extra time to make sure I loved the new look without over charging me. She was very polite and accomodating. Over-all an excellent place to go. The 1/2 star would be for the decor. Don't go in expecting much. The walls need a new coat of paint and the floors a good scrub. In fact just don't look too closely at your surroundings and you will feel like you are at a luxury salon. Also Cindy does bring her small dog in to work which is very fun, but if you have severe dog allergies, probably not the salon for you. Pros: affordable and they will work with you until the job is perfect - don't be afraid to be picky Cons: parking and decor
