Review content:
Scott ""The Glass Guy"" Bower has a lot of confidence in his abilities to repair your door, window, and glass issues, but his actual expertise is sorely lacking.
I paid Scott upfront half the cost to replace the worn weatherstripping in my large sliding doors off the great room (he said he requires a deposit before ordering special parts like weatherstripping--an aftermarket product he assured me would work--his contention was that he couldn't get the original part). He finally got around to doing half the door over a month later and after reviewing his work, we discussed that the job he had done was inadequate; the door didn't slide properly any more and the replaced weatherstripping was at best no better than what he replaced and probably worse--smoke from an incense stick blew past the weatherstripping like it wasn't even there. To his credit, he did fix the problem with the door that wouldn't allow it to slide. However, after stating that this might be the best he could do and together us agreeing that this wasn't adequate, he agreed to continue looking for an appropriate weatherstripping for the door; he admitted he wouldn't make any money on the job but committing to doing the job right for me. That was nearly two months ago, and after returning one phone call he has since stopped returning phone calls.
Please, do not use Scott Bower for any job. It is clear to me that his expertise is not in door and window repair, much less upstanding business practices. Let's work together to keep people like him permanently out of business.
