Review content:
I took an heirloom ring to be resized and appraised. I specifically asked if the appraisal would include color/clarity of the diamonds in the setting and was assured that it would. When I returned, the ring had been sized down smaller than agreed and the appraisal stated that the ring was yellow gold (it is white gold). After again resizing the ring properly, the appraisal did not include the information about the diamonds. When I pointed that out, the appraiser told me they won't provide that information on diamonds that size, contrary to what I'd originally been told. When I refused to accept the appraisal and pay for it, the appraiser demanded payment for his time (time to twice produce an inaccurate appraisal?) and threatened to sue me in small claims court. To get my ring back, I had to pay for the appraisal. He did add the information about the diamonds, but still wrote that some were ""chipped diamonds"" instead of ""diamond chips"".
