I go to Bahn Thai a couple of times a month. The people who work there are very friendly and willing to advise you if you are unfamiliar with Thai food. It's not expensive or particularly fancy. The food is made fresh and can be spiced to your tastes if you are worried about something being too hot. The menu is large and varied, and you can choose the type of meat you like (e.g. beef, shrimp, chicken, or vegetarian) with your entr?e. Actually, they will pretty much make anything the way you want it. This is a family-run place. I believe that their background is Laotian, but they know the Thai cuisine quite well. You can always get a table, and they have an amazing memory of returning customers. The staff always makes people feel comfortable in a sincere way, and they genuinely want you to enjoy your meal. No alcohol is served. The atmosphere is tasteful but informal. Take out is also available. The salads and soups are huge, and the portions in general are substantial. The fish is great, but my favourite is the roast duck curry. The place is a bit hard to find, but it is on the very end of a nearly empty strip mall. Parking is, of course, free and plentiful.
