There is something about having an elderly family member get old to the point where external care outside the family is required that can be emotionally difficult to deal with. Don't get me wrong, I've been my grandmother's loving Walter for years and I would do anything for her, but my real name is Travis and she needs assistance more often than not. At a certain point we took her car keys as many others do and started buying her groceries weekly. We were not sure at first non-medical home care was required, but after making those regular evaluations of her mental & physical health we saw complications we hadn't previously foreseen, and were not aware that many more were on the way. The care advisors at Advantage Home & Health Services made the transition from our care to theirs extremely easy. They were not only able to adapt to our ever changing time schedule for wishing to visit and care periodically for our grandmother, but were also very informative along the way. I think over all of their great qualities, the one I liked the most was actually their patience with not only my family, but my grandmother. Do you know what it is like to have to tell a prideful elderly Asian woman that she needs to wear diapers? Though many strong relationships were built between us, our grandmother and Advantage, all major wars were fought patiently and caringly by them and won quite gracefully.
