We moved to St. Louis for my husband's job for 6 months and wished we had stayed somewhere else. We had problems with the stove and the garbage disposal quit working the first week we moved in. My husband called the aparment complex office and requested that no one come in while he was at work. The maintance people came while he was at work and no one was home. They did not address the garbage disposal and said the stove was dirty and that was not the problem. We never got the stove or the garbage disposal fixed. Our furniture, clothes, and apartment smelled of cigarette smoke, although we don't smoke. We gave more than 30 days notice of our moving out. We moved out a few weeks prior to our lease expiring. We requested to pay out the last few weeks instead of breaking our lease. The lease had been signed mid month in the beginning. After my husband argued with management they agreed to allow us to pay out the lease. They then sent us a bill about a month later that stated that we owed money to pay for the full month, this is in addition to what we paid for half of the month when we moved out and our deposit. When we called and talked with managment they stated that it was not their fault that we moved out prior to out lease being out and they would never allow us to pay for part of the month to full fill the lease that expired mid month. We had to pay the amount they billed for the remainder of the month, because they stated that if we did not pay, they would send it to collections. The managment is terrible and I would not recommend for anyone to move in here.
