Review content:
I have visited lexington market from time to time for the past 40 years with my father decades before. I read the rave the reviews for faidley's crabcakes. Yesterday, I ordered a lump meat crab cake with greens and macaroni & cheese (favorite comfort food). Yes, the crab cake was real lump meat crab. I found the seasoning of the crab cake so salty that I could barely taste the crab. My tongue could sense and feel the mayonaise binding but I could not taste much of any thing else. I did experinece and hint and glimmer of crab taste for one stray piece of crab meat that wasn't hidden in the salt. As for the greens and macaroni & cheese. These two side dishes were also quite salty. I personally favor greens that haven't been reduced to a porraige. The mac&cheese was quite yellow in color and the sauce think but the cheese flavor again was overwhelmed by salt. The price for a single lump meat crab cake was $12.95 and with sides was $18.95. I understand the crabcake cost due the decline in blue crab (most of which is not imported from other parts of the US. Ok Three Dollars extra per side. This is little high folks! I also ate at the raw bar ordering two dozen oysters. These were wonderful. The service at both crab service counters could be quite surly depending on the service person at he time.
Pros: Raw Oysters Excellent
Cons: Food Over Seasoned and Service is Surly
