Review content:
This past weekend, my husband and I took some friends to dinner at Cabernet in Alpharetta. We had received a gift certificate a while back as a gift and decided this would be a good time to use it. We gave our waiter the certificate when the bill came. After a few minutes, a woman came over, apparently one of the managers and told us that our certificate was no longer valid. I asked her why because it had no expiration date on it. She said that the ownership had changed and they were no longer honoring the older gift certificates. We tried to explain to her that they should still honor it since it clearly has the restaurant's name on it and there is no expiration date. She was extremely rude and said something about having problems with theft of their gift certificates, implying we had stolen it. It was for $100 and was a gift that someone had spent their money on. Then the other manager came over, Gilberto Castro. He was very rude as well and offered no explanation that was valid. Finally he came back to the table with another $100 gift card! We were furious because we don't plan on going back there ever again. We did not understand why they could not just honor our original one. We had been to Cabernet many times before and spent a lot of money there. However, we will not ever return and will be sure to tell everyone we know what poor management and customer service they have.
Pros: Decent food
Cons: Highly priced, poor management, stuffy atmosphere
