Driver was young guy, nice enough ... started meter on 5 mile trip, meter was turning over like a bad Vegas slot machine, but what're you gonna do ... this ain't NYC. Was up to $18 as we rounded the corner to my destination when dispatcher gets on radio and decides it's a $45 flat rate call. Never told me that when I booked the cab on the phone ... I would have laughed and told them to take a hike. These guys pay the drivers only $8 an hour and make out like bandits. Never again. Find someone else. (Yes, I still tipped the driver, it was not his fault.)
