I had a very sore throat, severe tightness in my chest and a temperature of 101. I called my family physician and was told that I would have to wait 4 days for an appointment. I went to Cedar Crest EmergiCenter on a Saturday night. I saw the doctor who examined me and ordered a chest xray and a test for my throat. Luckily, the xray showed that I didn't have pneumonia. It took less than 10 minutes for the lab test to confirm that I did have Strep throat. The doctor put me on medication and I was able to go back to work on Monday. I was so glad that I didn't wait until Tuesday to see my own doctor. The nurses were great! The doctor was top notch! I will definitely go back there. We are lucky to have such a well-equipped and accessible facility in this area.
