Review content:
When Hurricane Charlie visited Florida my Mother's home was severely damaged. During the 5 months that it took to repair her home my Mom lived with me in York. As my Mom was bored with us gone at work all day and she missed socializing with her friends I arranged for her to attend the Yorktown Sr. Center to play bridge twice a week and what a difference it made in her life and in mine. While she was first reluctant to go as she knew no one and was afraid that the center would be similar to a nursing home, she was greatly surpliced to meet other like minded independent people like herself at the center. While year's have passed since her first visit, she continues to come up to visit me for the summer and she plays bridge with her new circle of friends twice a week and they also get together for social outings. Socialization is important to all of us and the center has greatly improved my Mom's life and mine. If you or a loved one are looking for a place to socialize and promote wellness, please give this senior center or another local one near you a try. If transportation is a problem Rabbit transit's dial a ride for seniors is there to help out. Pros: great location and staff, ample parking
