I have been in Denver all week for the DNC and we are staying at the Brown Palace Hotel and eating some of our meals here as well. I must tell you that this restaurant, in particular (Ellyngton's) is THE place to be! I have seen all the major players here at one time or another (BiLL & Hillary included).More importantly I have to say that this is the best food I have eaten anywhere in Denver (Maybe ever!). I saw the chef yesterday conversing with the table next to me, a great looking guy without the usual ""chefly""attitude. My Food was perfect , I ordered the chef's breakfast special that he was calling the Hunter S Thompson special, it included a Salmon cigarette which was actually a salmon & cream cheese crepe, Hash and huckleberry Pancakes...what a riot! Everyone at my table was so pleased not only with the food but the overall atmosphere here, really good vibes! Some of the hotels other restaurants are stodgy and the food doesnt compare. I'm not sure if it's the same chef or not but he does a great job here . If you are looking for a place to dine for breakfast or lunch while in Denver you won't want to miss Ellyington's. Oh yeah and order the special, whatever that may be, you are guaranteed to come away satisfied and wanting more! I can't wait to see what's on the lunch menu today or who may be in the room (rumor's about Oprah are circulating!)
