Review content:
I was sent to House of Brides by my cousin. My wedding came about on a short notice, and knew I wouldn't be able to order one in time through 'traditional' well known bridal shops (one of which, David Bridal, never called me back when I tried scheduling an appointment). She had also needed to find her dress 'off the rack,' and said this place had quite the selection for being such a small shop, and were reasonably priced compared to other shops. I must say I have to agree. I was greeted immediately upon entering, asked what I was looking for, wedding date, and budget. I was asked to pick out of few on my own, and Maggie picked out a few for me too. After finding one that fit almost perfectly, Maggie said she would do all the alterations for free, and also gave me a solid discount on the dress to bring it into my price range. Awesome. Maggie is incredible at multi-tasking. She gave me individualized attention, as well as managing whatever questions other brides had as they came in, and questions her husband would ask regarding phone calls, etc. The shop is not covered with crystals, feathers, and lace, but it's more than adequate to get the job done. I noticed in the comments, the dressing area was mentioned as a couple curtains and a rod. It's true, but who cares? The curtains weren't open unless the person changing specifically didn't close them all the way, people couldn't see you while they walked around on the sidewalk. If someone expects a bridal suite as a changing area, they can always book appointments at Kleinfeld's. I bet a few of these reviews were written by bridezillas, with expectations way out of their own abilities. This place may not have all the frills one might expect while wedding dress shopping, but if you're not a woman that's looking to spend over $1000 dollars on your dress, this is a place that shouldn't be passed up.
