My daugher, mother-in-law and myself were excited to take a shopping trip to Ooh La La's. My mother-in-law lives in Florida and she remembered stopping in last year with my daughter and she was anxious to shop at the store again during her annual trip to West Bend. My daughter found a purse that she liked but was debating on whether all of her things would fit in it. Before we purchased it, I specifically asked the tall blond sales lady whether we could return it. She stated that it could be returned within two weeks if the tag was left on and if we had the receipt. We continued with the purchase and when we got home, my daughter tried to put all of her things in it, but they did not fit. I went to the store to return it within 6 days and was told that I had to take an in store credit. I tried to reason with the store owner that we were not told that at the time of purchase. She said that it states it on the receipt and on their board behind the register. I told her that you do not get the receipt until after the purchase is made therefore you cannot read the receipt and that when I specifically asked about the possibility of a return, the sales lady should have pointed that out to me. She said it was the store's policy and she would not make an exception. I told her under the circumstances that it would be good customer service to do so. She also argued with me that SHE rang me up and told me the policy. I told her that she was NOT the sales lady who rang us up because she was completely physically different, shorter with long brown hair. The original sales lady was in the store and I pointed her out and the owner said she couldn't have because HER name was on the receipt. I really felt that I was being lied to at that point. When I later asked my daughter to describe the original sales lady, she described the tall blond lady who was not the owner. I had no choice but to take the in store credit reluctantly, but I will never shop at Ooh La La Accessories again because of the very, very poor customer service. If you do shop at the store and are indecisive about a purchase, please be aware that you cannot get your money back nor a credit on your charge card, you must take an in store credit. Therefore I would highly recommend that you DO NOT SHOP at Ooh La La's but shop at another store where the customer is appreciated and serviced with a smile. By the way, this is the first time I have ever written a complaint but I felt very compelled to write this one!
