Review content:
Sonic is what it is - fast food. But two things set Sonic apart from the average fast burger box. First, their burgers come nearest to what I think of as a traditional burger. Nothing revolutionary, no special sauce, just a consistently good burger with decent fries or rings. I do have to mention that their steak and egg burritos are very tasty and fresh (a personal favorite). The second item, and what really sets Sonic apart from the crowd, is their wide range of drinks & shakes. You can have a good, traditional chocolate malt or get really creative with a mix-your-own flavor slush. And where else do you get a cherry limeade with a half of a real lime lurking at the bottom? Bottom line, when I drive in to a Sonic, I am usually thinking first about what cool drink I want and then about what food to order.
Pros: Great drinks. I like the carhop theme (it beats waiting in a line of cars).
Cons: Food is not as outstanding as their drinks.
