Review content:
I would not recommend this rehab facility for stroke victims. My family member was there for 3 weeks. The nursing care was horrific. The aides and nurses were not willing to help with transfers and daily cleaning. Medications were given incorrectly. Her room was never clean and linens rarely changed. My family stayed with her 24 hours a day due to the lack of care. Speech therapy was incompetent, although PT and OT team did an adequate job. The Rehab as a team was unaccustomed to treating patients with aphasia and often would be angry that my family member could not understand or respond correctly. As a physician in the DFW area I will not send my patients to this rehab facility. Harris Methodist is a great hospital, but the rehab department needs restructuring. I highly recommend Pate Rehabilitation Center for Stroke or Brain Injury rehab.
