Review content:
On April 7th, 2012 I purchased a dress from Coconut Island's online store service. I paid $190.95 via credit card. Prior to the purchase I noticed that the website had no return policy posted, so I asked. The reply said returns were for store credit only. I replied asking for an exception, and to be allowed to return the dress for a refund. I explained I was asking for this exception due to the fact that I have extensive scarring from a major burn accident and only one breast; consequently, I have trouble finding dresses that will cover this and did not want to risk a loss. The dress came and was unsuitable. I emailed Coconut Island explaining that I would be returning it. I returned it on April 16th (tracking number 0310 2010 0000 1835 0765). On April 19th I got an email from Coconut Island stating that they had received the dress back, and that ""it is very obvious this dress has been worn"". They went on to say the dress had ""white spots on the back of the dress where it has been sat in, also there is glitter from top to bottom on the dress, and also a small stain. We clearly can not take this dress back"" This accusation is 100% untrue. The dress was totally unworn and in perfect as-received condition. I replied stating this, and that I did not want the dress back and would refuse delivery if returned. I stated I wanted a full refund as promised within 5 business days. It has now been 8 days and I have heard nothing more from the company and no refund. They obviously changed their mind about making an exception to refund my money. I was so grateful when they agreed to a return for refund, because I can't help being disfigured and can't afford to lose nearly $200. I can provide all emails, both sent and received, which I will happily forward to anyone interested. I did some research about this company when I realized I was being conned, and apparently I am not the only one: www.palmcoast. biz/portal/show_entry.asp?TYP=1&EntryID=2532. I have reported this to BBB and filed a claim via my credit card. I will file with the FTC Bureau of Consumer Affairs next and make sure my story is plastered all over the web. I have never waged a war like this before, but this is just so despicable on so many levels. I want to save anyone else from a similar incident.
