Review content:
The guy never would give me a price -- kept saying it'll just take about an hour. Ended up costing $175.00 ""flat fee"" plus parts to replace a simple power jack. He also said I needed my computer cleaned up and talked me into getting his ""free"" antivirus. Again, instead of price, he said it'll just take about 30 minutes -- but he charged me $75.00 for an hour! I didn't argue about the price which totalled almost $300, even though it took over a week to fix my computer. But I was very upset when I got home and found that my entire desktop had been changed! He took everything I had on my desktop and put it in a file, changed my browser from Explorer to Yahoo, changed my homepage from Swagbucks to Yahoo, deleted ALL of my favorites and deleted the user ID that I used to log in! Three days later, I had a virus on my computer! When I took it back in and told him I wanted everything put back the way it was when I brought it in, including my previous antivirus, he started arguing with me. I asked him if the icons on my desktop would have caused it to run slow and he said ""no"". Then why remove them? I've used computer repair shops several times before and have never experienced these tactics. They always give an upfront price , do just what I ask, and never argue when I have questions, concerns, or disagree. Even though this shop is only one block away from me, I will never use him again! I feel totally ripped off as I wade through trying to find all my old favorites and putting things back the way they were. I hope someone reads this and saves themself grief and wasted money!
