Review content:
I thought getting a skirt dry-cleaned was a straight-forward affair: drop off, pay, pick up. American Cleaners on South Lamar just hasn't caught on to this wave of the future. The first time I tried to pick up my skirt, it still had a large obvious stain on it. The second time, that stain was gone, but there was a NEW stain that the cleaners had kindly left elsewhere. The THIRD time I tried to pick up my skirt, the new stain hadn't come out, and the delicate linen was showing a lot of wear from their carelessness (two rips). At that point, I was happy to take my skirt--and my business--elsewhere without causing a fuss, but THEY WOULD NOT GIVE ME BACK MY SKIRT. They wanted me to PAY for their services of staining and ripping my skirt. That's right, my skirt is being held hostage. I don't get it back until I pay the ransom on its head. Now I'm supposed to call the manager on HIS time frame ( at 7am a full two weeks from the date I originially dropped off my item) so that we can discuss a 'discount' for their unique services. In summary, American Cleaners treats you and your clothes like the dirt they're supposed to remove. Pros: location Cons: damage clothes, terrible customer service
