My partner & I visit this establishment (using the term loosely) today for lunch 5-31-11. And both she & I were less than impressed. We were greeted & seated by a friendly gentleman & that is where the hospitality ended. This establishment is obviously a ""good ole boys"" type of place & does not extend the welcome mat to those who are just trying a new place. Our waitress (using the term loosely as well) did not introduce herself, and when we advised her that we needed a few more minutes to look over the menu, she did not return for about 10 minutes, the waitress was not friendly, there was also another gentleman (perhaps another dishwasher, I don't know) who walked the entire establishment speaking to everyone and making small talk, yet he NEVER made it to our table. This disgusted me. A group of 3 college-age guys walked in and were seated and the waitress introduced herself & even had the audacity to offer refills, which she never extended too our table & my sweet tea ran dry. I sucked on the ice, to quench my thirst. We recieved our food and it was medicore @ best. The burger had no flavor, The onion rings while they were not cold, I was under the impression the food was made to order & I think my onion rings sat a minute or two. Neither my partner nor myself were impressed with this establishment. While the no name waitress did ask how the food was, it was obvious, she did not care. When we had eaten as much as we could muster, I stood up to go pay the check and she ""claimed"" she was coming to get the payment. I seriously doubt it. As she hadn't been back to the table, so needless to say I didn't believe her. Too sum this up, in my opinion if you are African-American you are not welcome here, while not turned away b/c that would cause a riot, you will not be greeted with southern hospitality. And if you are an African-American lesbian couple, as my partner & I are, you will be looked at crazy, and they don't even try to hide it. Now this is just my opinion, hopefully this is not the case with all patrons of color and same-sex couples. But my experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
