Review content:
I used to go to this true value hardware location as a kid with my father but havent been in there in many years. Regretfully today i went in to get a few things ...bad experience! upon walking through the front door theres mile high stacks of old vhs plaers, old cabinet stlye zennith tv's,stuff just thrown about everywhere giving off the look of a run-down pawn shop. Not to mention the guy working there who might i add was in sweat pants and some strange t-shirt , greeted me by saying ''hi,what do you want'' It seemed as if the floors hadnt been moped or even swept in several years. The check-out counter was cluttered with various things, papers, notes, and items that didnt even belong in a hardware store. Upon checking out my two items, some long furring boards and some nails, the man ""clerk"" tried to upsell me into buying a used dingy stroller!? So my question here is ....how the hell is the owner of this TRUE VALUE HARDWARE store able to fly below the radar and get away with completely damaging and crapping on there standards? Ive been to other true value hardware stores which look nothing like this sorry run down joint. I guess on the other hand if your looking for a box of nails,a few boards,a 30 year old t.v and crappy used stroller all in the same place ....well there you go ,hit up the TRUE VALUE HARDWARE store in south elgin il Pros: great deal on junk Cons: bad smells, disorganized, unwanted upselling
