My husband and I have been fans of Rudy's in Monrovia for many years, celebrating various special occasions there with friends and family because we love their food so much! My favorite is their Ropa Vieja ( Shredded, very flavorful beef with peppers~not spicy!) and we both love their Carne Asada with Shrimp Al Mojo de Ajo! (Garlic/Scampi Style Shrimp) You MUST try Rudy's Special Margarita~the BEST and I know margaritas!!!!! Their warm, fresh chips and salsa are terrific (again not spicy but delicious~ you can order hot salsa if you'd like)! I always tell everyone that their food is the closest to my mom's cooking that any Mexican restaurant has come! Authentic, fresh and delicious always! We would eat there everyday if we could! Worth every cent! The service is always great! Very friendly staff! We have never had a bad meal at Rudy's and have been there enough times to have tried MANY of their menu items! This great little family restaurant is within walking distance of a movie theatre! We have invited friends who have driven from as far as Long Beach to join us there a number of times!
Pros: Fresh, authentic food! Friendly, prompt service! Best Cadillac Margarita Ever!!!
Cons: Busy on Friday nights but tells you just how good it is! No other cons!
